How To: Get 500 Free Starpoints in Under Two Minutes
One Mile at a Time today highlighted a good addition to SPG’s More for You promotion where you can get 500 Free Starpoints just for updating your profile.
The whole thing takes less than two minutes, and it looks like all members are eligible. The profile update must be made before December 14, 2014 in order to receive the free Starpoints.
Here’s an easy way to get those points –
Click here to go to the promotion page.
Enter in your SPG member number and email address.
Once you’ve registered (if you haven’t already), click on View my Account at the top of the page, and sign in on the new page that pops up. Click on the arrow by your name, which brings a dropdown box. Select Manage My Account, My Profile.
Scroll down and select Edit next to My Stay Preferences, make a modification and click Save at the bottom.
You’re all set, and the Terms & Conditions say that the bonus points will post between two and four weeks after the promotion ends, even if you don’t participate in the promo.

I tried to register, but got the following message:
Welcome back, but it appears that you’re already registered for the SPG More For You promotion — all you need to do now is book a stay.
It doesn’t sound like the same promotion that you wrote about.
That’s right Al, and then once you sign in you can access your profile to make a small change. I was just giving readers an easy way to get to their sign in page.
