The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center is located 12 miles southwest of O’Hare airport, and right across the street from Yorktown Shopping Mall. Even though I was staying at the hotel for work, it was definitely nice to have the mall so close. Here’s the mall directory.

During check-in, I asked about dining options onsite. Most hotels have their own restaurant that is ok, but not great. I was thrilled to find out that the Westin Lombard has not one, but two popular onsite restaurants. Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse, and Harry Caray’s Holy Mackerel seafood restaurant. I hoped to have time to to try them out during my stay.

As a Starwood Platinum, I was given a Deluxe Corner King Room on the 10th floor.

The entryway had a small table with some art, which made it feel a bit like home where you can set keys/bag on the table when walking in the door.

At 500 square feet, the room seemed larger because of the two walls of windows.

Clean and airy, the room’s open floor plan made moving around easy.

The bed had individual reading lamps, which is a good feature so that one person can keep a small light on without using a large overhead light.

The couch and table were simple but convenient for working or eating on. Sheer curtains offered a bit of privacy, and when it was time to close the drapes, there were easy to pull blackout curtains.

The flat screen TV had HDMI outlets in the back. This  meant that I could plug in my Roku device from home and watch my own programs on the hotel TV’s screen, a big improvement over my small laptop screen.

The ample sized bathroom came with two sinks.

A magnifying mirror and small plastic flower were also sinkside.

The amenities were Westin’s signature White Tea Aloe.

The bathroom featured a separate well-sized tub, perfect for a long soak.

The toilet itself was in a separate room.

Some very large plastic flowers across from the toilet made me feel like Alice in Wonderland!

After a good night’s rest in the comfortable bed, my trip was over all too soon. I hadn’t even had a chance to try the onsite restaurants, but I know I’ll be back. Stay tuned!
