Ritz Carlton has three targeted summer promotions right now, called “Explore Beyond the Expected”. I wrote about the first offer, stay twice earn one free night here. Platinum members may now be receiving the email for the second offer, which is stay 5 nights between July 1 and October 31, 2014, receive 50,000 Ritz Carlton Rewards points, stay 5 more nights in the same period, earn another 50,000 points. The link to register for that one will be live until September 30, 2014.

Technically you are only allowed to be a member of one program, either Ritz Carlton Rewards or Marriott Rewards. Here’s a good breakdown on that from View from the Wing. This promotion may be stackable with the Marriott Rewards Getaway Bonus offer, which is different for everyone but a common bonus is double Marriott Rewards points after the second stay, up to a maximum of 25,000 bonus points. To find out your Getaway bonus, click here.

Stacking the two promotions means that starting on the third Ritz Carlton stay you’d start earning 20 Marriott Rewards Points per dollar (instead of 10), after the 5th night you’d have earned 50,000 Ritz Carlton Rewards points, and after the 10th night you’d get another 50,000 Ritz Carlton Rewards points. There is a maximum of 100,000 Ritz Carlton Rewards points that can be earned with the Explore Beyond the Expected promo, and a maximum of 25,000 Marriott Rewards bonus points that can be earned with the Getaway Bonus offer.

Note that some properties are excluded from this promotion – The Ritz-Carlton, Millennia Singapore; Phulay Bay; Dorado Beach; The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club; The Ritz-Carlton Residences; and Partner Hotels.

Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit. The member receiving this offer has been specifically targeted. Only one room per hotel per stay is counted toward earning for this promotion. 1. Nick – In my personal experience as a Ritz Carlton member, I’ve registered and been eligible for both Ritz Carlton and Marriott Rewards promos the last two years. Last summer, Marriott did a mid-year stay two nights get one free up to two free nights, Ritz Carlton did the same and even if the promo periods were different, they overlapped and I got 4 free nights (two from each promo) by staying only 6 nights at various Ritz Carltons. So they stacked fine for me. Through the winter, there were two Marriott Mega Bonus promos and I earned the maximum allowed 4 free nights from those. I was even invited by a Marriott email.
So even if you can’t be a member of both programs, in my experience, you can participate in all promos and some of them stack as they overlap. My recommendation is to register for every Marriott & Ritz Carlton promotion available, and if you get credit for both then great.
