Hilton’s Taste of the Hawaiian Range Tickets Now On Sale
Get out yer cowboy boots and put on a bib! The 19th Mealani’s Taste of the Hawaiian Range is coming to Hilton’s Waikoloa Village on September 26, 2014 from 5-8pm. Local entertainment and music will blend Hawaiian ambiance with a Wild West atmosphere. The Taste is an opportunity to bring together restauranteurs, foodies, local rangers and farmers.
There’ll be exhibit booths, and dishes offered by more than 30 top Hawaiian chefs include pasture-raised pork, beef, lamb, goat, mutton, and wild boar. Vegetables, island fruit, honey, spices and drinks will also be available.
For the more adventurous, sirloin tips and ribs will be served next to beef tongue, tail, cheek, and “rocky mountain oysters”….otherwise known as bull testicles. Yuck. I definitely wouldn’t give that one a try, but some of you might!
Tickets to the Taste event are $45 through September 25, 2014, and $60 on the day of the event. Here’s a booking link. There are about a dozen locations on the island that sell tickets as well –

For people that want to spend the night at the hotel too, Hilton is offering special hotel packages for the night of September 26, 2014 that include two tickets to the Taste of the Hawaiian Range event. The special rate is available only for residents of Hawaii, here’s a package booking link for those of you lucky enough to call Hawaii home.
Use promotional code TSH when booking.
To see what the difference would be when booking a room that night as a Hawaii resident versus not, I found the special pricing package on their website for the price of $239.
I then looked up the best available rate, which came to $199.
If I was planning on staying at the hotel and going to the Taste by myself, the difference in price would be negligible since I’d only need to purchase one $45 admittance ticket after booking the hotel at $199. With two people though, the difference would be a little higher since the $239 includes two ticket.
This sounds like a cool event. I won’t be in Hawaii for this date, but wish everyone attending a fun time!
