Starwood opened their first Element brand hotel outside of the US today. The Element Frankfurt Airport hotel is a little over 1 mile away from the airport, offers the brand’s signature amenities like its RISE breakfast, and each of their 133 rooms includes a kitchen and complimentary Wifi. There’s also a restaurant called Limónes that serves spanish cuisine from 7am until midnight.

A category 4 property, the Element Frankfurt Airport hotel will require 10,000 Starpoints for a free night.

Here’s a booking link.

Looking at pricing for today, it looks like day rooms are offered at 87 EUR, a prepaid overnight stay is 119 EUR and the best available rate comes to 129 EUR, which is definitely reasonable. Self parking is 24 EUR per day.

The rooms look nice and airy, and there are Studios and one bedroom Suites to choose from.

When I am in Frankfurt I am usually just passing through. Usually when I stay at an airport hotel I want to be able to walk to the airport unless I have a car with me. Alternately I’ll take the hotel’s free shuttle. Looking at the options for transportation at the Element Frankfurt, it doesn’t look like they have a free shuttle though. As an “Airport Hotel” though I’m a bit surprised. No shuttle to the airport?

travel

A cab is estimated at 7 EUR with a travel time of 5 minutes to the airport. I’ll check out the new property, but for now I’m definitely still leaning towards staying at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center which I reviewed here, mainly because I love the fact it is directly connected to Terminal 1. That means more time to sleep in the morning before a flight.

Comparing prices, the Sheraton is 214 EUR for tonight and a day room is 144 EUR.

Element Frankfurt also has extended stay offers that drop the nightly rate down to 69 EUR if staying 30 days or longer.

best

This is where I think a stay at this hotel here makes the most sense, at an extended stay rate. The property has a 24 hour fitness center, and even offers 24 hour washers and dryers, kitchens in each of the rooms, and a grab and go food pantry if you feel like cooking.
