New Marriott Miami Beach Edition Hotel Now Accepting Reservations
The new Marriott Miami Beach Edition Hotel is now accepting reservations for arrivals starting November 10, 2014. A Category 9 property, it will require 45,000 points for a free night.
The new property will have 11 floors consisting of 269 guest rooms with 25 suites. Wireless internet is free in all guest rooms, but there is a $25 resort fee that includes, “beach chair service, beach towels and bike rental”. There are two pools plus a huge private beachfront area. The hotel’s restaurant boasts a Michelin Starred chef, and there is even a bowling alley onsite as well as an ice-skating rink. Seriously, what hotels have their own ice-skating rink. Sounds like a fun place!

Selecting the date of November 10, 2014 the starting rate was $429 which is pretty high.
I tried the AAA rate, along with my corporate rate but it looks like they haven’t uploaded any of those special rates yet.
NOTE: When making mock reservations, I saw that cancellations could be made with no penalty up until 7 days prior to arrival. I’m used to seeing the ability to cancel reservations the day prior but it looks like this property has a special cancellation policy.
There are also bungalow room types as well as luxury residences. Checking rates for the bungalow suites I found them starting at $2,600. Some of them are split-level. Oceanview Kings and some other rooms include plunge pools which is a bit unusual for hotels in the US. The Penthouse Suite sounds pretty cool at 2,600 square feet with multiple balconies and a pool. The price tag is $14,000 a night though, so I don’t think I’ll be staying in that room!
