Up to $400 Resort Credit at Marriott Caribbean & Latin America Properties
Marriott is running a promotion where bookings at participating Caribbean and Latin America properties will earn up to $400 in resort credit for stays between January 4 and March 31, 2015. Two of their Cancun properties which are no doubt still reeling from Hurricane Odile are also offering 30% off premium rooms.
Called Extra Credit Giveaway, bookings must be made by November 30, 2014. The terms say that a “premium” room must be booked (which in this case means just not the lowest category of room), and there are some blackout dates. There are also minimum stay requirements of between 2 and 5 nights that vary by property.

Checking the St. Kitt’s property for the random dates of February 6-9, 2015 the promotional rate came to $449 a night, with a $400 resort credit.
It was hardly a deal, especially since I found a much better rate of $259 plus $25 resort credit per night.
The JW Marriott Cancun looked much better with a best available rate of $279 for a standard room and a promotional rate of $289 for the “premium” ocean view, which included a $50 resort credit per day up to $400.
The suite at $334 a night included a resort credit of $100 a night.
The bold type said that changes or cancellations needed to be done by November 30, 2014 but when continuing on through the booking process it said that cancellations were allowed through the day of check-in with no penalty.
Depending on the specific property and dates, this promotion offers some good savings especially in Cancun.
