Park Hyatt Celebrates Family Legacies With Sons+Fathers Book Inspired by U2’s Bono
This coming Sunday June 21, 2015 is Father’s Day, and the Park Hyatt brand is celebrating its family legacy by placing a copy of their new book Sons+Fathers in each Park Hyatt guest room around the globe. The book was designed exclusively for the brand and celebrates the special relationship between fathers and sons. Flipping through a copy of the book I found touching tributes which included photos, poems and phrases from world leaders and famous figures such as Bono, Colin Farrell, Mario Testino, Bill Clinton and Sting.
The book includes a special forward decided to the founder of the Park Hyatt Brand – Jay Pritzker. The forward was written by his son Tom Pritzker who currently leads as an Executive Chairman of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Pritzker said, “We learn so much from our families – generation to generation, not just father to son. Supporting Sons+Fathers is a natural fit for the Park Hyatt brand as we pay homage to our own roots and embrace our passion for continuously sharing knowledge, so often passed down from within families, with guests and with each other.â€
The proceeds for the book go to the Nurses for Night Care program by the Irish Hospice Foundation and Hospice Africa Uganda. The program is focused on improving end of life care.
Here’s how you can contribute –
Buy a book through the hospice foundation and get a free card. Note that shipping to the US is around $18 so you might choose to use Amazon since shipping is free for Prime members.
Park Hyatt Goa is running a contest on Instagram. Share an old memory @ParkHyattGoa using hashtag #SonsAndFathers and you could and win a holiday with your dad in Goa.
Post a photo of you and your Son or Dad and text FATHER to 50300 to donate €4 to the Irish Hospice Foundation. Note that international texting rates apply.
Park Hyatt hotels will also be offering special experiences as part of a new #SonsAndFathers program. A father-son trip to research a family’s roots or work with a Park Hyatt chef to recreate a special family recipe handed down through generations are just a few examples.
You can also follow along on Twitter using #SonsandFathers.
I think this book is a touching look at some special relationships and would make a great gift. If you don’t purchase a copy you can also read through it the next time you’re at a Park Hyatt property.
