Kimpton’s New Secret Password plus Le Club Accorhotels 48 Hour Flash Sale

Kimpton’s quarterly secret password is out. Ok, so it isn’t a secret password as much as a social one, but if you whisper the right words at check-in you’ll get a surprise gift from the hotel.

The Kimpton secret social password is “Farmer’s Marketâ€, and you can use it through September 30, 2015. The surprise gift varies but can be quite nice, such as free drinks or free parking. The only problem for me is that I don’t always remember to mention the secret password when checking in to a Kimpton!

Le Club Accorhotels is running a flash sale where Accorhotels members can get savings up to 40% plus free breakfast on bookings made by June 26, 2015 for stays between July 10 through August 29, 2015.

Some hotel chains don’t let you know up front which properties are participating in a promotion, and you just have to use their calendar search feature by property and hope for the best. With Le Club Accorhotel’s super sale, there is actually a 52 page document listing all of the participating properties, the dates the promotion is good through, whether or not free breakfast is included, and the number (if any) of minimum days are required. The discount percentage for this promo varies by property, but as a general rule of thumb 30% is offered to non-Accorhotels members and 40% for members (excluding ibis budget which is capped at 30%).

It sounds like they want to incentivize people to sign up for the Le Club Accorhotels program, and if you are making a booking anyhow it makes sense.

The downside of this promotion is that most reservations are prepaid and nonrefundable/non changeable.

Does this flash sale still offer a good deal? I’d say only if you are firm on your plans. The discounted amount is decent and free breakfast thrown in is great, but I usually prefer to make hotel reservations that can be cancelled without any penalty.
