Have You Won An Instant Prize With SPG’s Open The World Game?

SPG’s fun instant win online game is back again this year, this time called “Open the World of SPGâ€. You can enter once a day until September 30, 2015. Each registration also gives you one entry into the grand prize drawing for 250,000 Starpoints.

A plus for those outside of the US is that the contest is open to legal residents of the United States (including the District of Columbia), Canada (excluding Quebec), Australia, Austria, Brazil, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.

Here’s the breakdown of prizes –

SPG is giving away 33 free award nights which can be used at any participating properties in category 1-5, 561 Starpoints awards in varying amounts, 165 $10 American Express Gift Cards, 825 $50 Amazon Gift Cards, and 330 $25 Amazon Gift Cards.

If you prefer to play in person instead of online, if attending the US Open Tennis Championships in Flushing NY there will be a SPG booth on the grounds outside the Arthur Ashe Stadium where you can play. The prizes are separate too. In-person prizes won via the electronic kiosk are 75 free award nights which can be used at any participating properties in category 1-5.

One huge Grand Prize of 250,000 Starpoints will be given after a random drawing on or around October 8, 2015.

After entering my SPG number and password, I was asked to choose a device to “open the door”.

Since I was recently gifted an Apple Watch by my husband, I chose that as my device. Next, I was shown several doors and asked to click on just one.

I picked a door which swung open to the St Regis in Florence, Italy. I love Italy, and though I had a wonderful stay at the Westin Excelsior in Florence I’ve never stayed at the St Regis.

I crossed my fingers, clicked the “see if you’ve won†button, and held my breath.
