Orbitz $50 off $100 Hotel Bookings

Orbitz is offering $50 off $100 or more hotel bookings made for stays between September 15 and September 30 2015. The reservation can be made via desktop or mobile device.

Most major hotel chains are excluded from the offer and bookings are prepaid, but this can be a great way to save if you have been putting off booking a hotel and are looking to get some last-minute savings.

Using the random date of September 22, 2015 and searching Orbitz.com for hotels in the Chicago area, the full list of available properties pulled up and it was easy to see which ones qualified for the promotion. Both the Peninsula and Raffaello Hotel had a colored bar reading “Promo Code Eligible” while the Palomar Kimpton did not. Clicking through it automatically applied the promo savings to the total. Masterpass is required as a method of payment, which is just a digital wallet.

Using the dates of September 28-30, 2015 in the Atlanta area, a normally $62 per night hotel (Americas Best Value Inn) was promotion eligible plus qualified for an extra 20% off from Orbitz’s summer sale. Taxes and fees were unavoidable, but the grand total for both nights came to $75. Definitely reasonable!

There are two especially good ways to use this promo. The first is to book a hotel for a single night just over the $100 rate so you get half off. The second is to book more than one night at the $50 rate so it’s like getting a second night free. Also, Orbitz is still running a summer 20% off sale for many properties, which is stackable with the $50 off promo.
