The 8th Day of InsideFlyer’s Christmas Calendar Plus 31 Days of Giveaways – Day 20
Today is the 8th Day of Christmas in InsideFlyer’s 12 Days of Christmas contests, and today’s prize is a little like getting surprised with instant loyalty program status.
10 winners will receive an instant bump to Level 3 tier with PointsHound, which typically is the level you get to once you’ve had 20+ nights of hotel stays.
PointsHound.com, for those who are not familiar, gives you the opportunity to earn miles (and Bitcoin if you’re into that) when booking your hotel through them. They are an online hotel booking site where you can earn up to 6,000 airline miles per night for your booking.
Just like any hotel booking site, the prices you’ll find on PointsHound are sometimes cheaper and sometimes more expensive than on other sites. Even though stays do not count towards elite status re-qualification with a hotel loyalty program and you your status level may not be recognized, Pointshound has their own rewards program to prompt you to book with them multiple times. Here’s their chart on the miles earning depending on number of bookings through their site –
This means that with today’s InsideFlyer prize, winners will automatically be earning frequent flyer miles at 7x-20x bonus when booking hotels on PointsHound.
If you haven’t gotten in on the contest fun over at InsideFlyer, click here to get registered, and you’ll receive a daily email with details on prizes and how to enter. All you need is your email address, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
To enter today’s Magic of Miles contest for a goodie bag stuffed with swag, leave a comment on this post about PointsHound. Have you used it before, and if so what did you think? Would you use it in the future?
The contest ends at 9pm PST tonight December 20, 2015, and you can click here for full contest rules.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Never used them but maybe in the future.
I have not tried PH yet, but I do check them when searching for deals.
I always check pointshound and kaligo after looking for BRG opportunities on trivago and kayak.
Never used pointshound. I’d prefer hotel points w/ status. Fly enough to get enough miles for fun trips.
I have no desire to use PH; what happens if PH goes out of business? Those points are lost.
I have not used PointsHound before but it sounds like a great way to earn extra miles.
I have never used PointsHound before. I will check it out .
