Earn Up to 50,000 Bonus Points with Club Carlson
Club Carlson is offering up to 50,000 Bonus Gold Points for stays between April 18 and July 31, 2016.
You must register before your first stay, in order for it to count in the promotion.
You will earn:
- 5,000 bonus Gold Points after staying 2 nights
- an additional 10,000 bonus Gold Points after staying 5 nights
- an additional 10,000 bonus Gold Points after staying 10 nights
- and a final bonus of 25,000 Gold Points after 15 nights
Which basically means that you’ll top out at 50,000 after staying 15 nights.
Stays can be at any of the following brands for this promotion: Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Plaza, Park Inn, Country Inns & Suites, or Quorvus Collection.
There are no hotels in these brands that have elected not to participate in the promo.
50,000 Gold Points is enough to redeem for a free Award Night at any Category 1-6Â property.
Is this good promotion?
The brand new Radisson Blu Beach Resort in Milatos, Greece is a category 5 property requiring just 44,000 points for a free night.
Situated right on the beach and tucked between two fishing villages, the resort looks like a great place to stay.
Does it make sense to stay 15 nights at Club Carlson hotels in order to redeem at this hotel that costs $272 a night? No, because it would need to be less than $18 a night just to equal the cost of the redemption.
However, if you are staying at Club Carlson properties anyway between the promotion period, the extra points are a nice bonus that you could use to stay there.
Another option is to top up your account.
The Radisson Blu Edwardian in London easily goes for $480 a night and higher.
It was once a Category 6, requiring just 50,000 points for a free night.
After a devaluation, many of the higher-end Radisson Blu’s (including this one) were bumped up into Category 7, requiring 70,000 points for a free night. Â That means that even if you were to stay 15 nights under Club Carlson’s new promotion to earn 50,000 points you wouldn’t have enough to redeem at those properties. But, if you already have some points just sitting there you can use this promotion to top up and then redeem.
Where you may get even more value is redeeming at a lower category 1 or 2 property such as the Park Inn by Radisson Houston North & Conference Center in Texas, which is a category 1 that can run between $80-$100.
The full-service property has a free shuttle to Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) which makes it convenient if you have a layover or early morning flight. If you were to stay 15 nights during the promotion and earn the 50,000 bonus Gold points, you’d have enough to redeem for 5 separate nights at that Park Inn.
There are also a ton of Club Carlson category 1 properties in India, so if you’re thinking of taking a trip there this would be a great place to redeem.
Do you have a preferred Club Carlson property that you’d redeem the 50,000 points at?
