Today kicks-off the start of summer with grilled hot dogs and macaroni salad, lazy time at the pool or beach, shopping, sunburns and watermelon.
The upcoming months will be filled with sandy shoes, hotel stays, and cold drink glasses that leave a ring on the table.
Summertime
Today is Memorial Day, the day to honor the men and women who gave their all, in return for the freedoms we enjoy. Many places in the world seem to be going backwards in terms of freedom, and I am thankful to live in a country as great as the United States of America.
Military gravestones
I took a pause today, to honor and remember those servicemen and women whose lives were cut short in their military service to this country.
I am grateful for my life and freedoms, and hope my readers are enjoying Memorial Day!
