Have You Won a Prize in SPG’s Open More Game?

Starwood Preferred Guest has a fun new game called “Open More†where you can win instant prizes and free night awards.

You can enter SPG’s online game once a day until September 12, 2016. Each game entry also gives you one entry into the grand prize drawing.

The contest runs right up to the beginning of SPG’s “More for You” promotion registration and start on September 12, 2016, where you can earn double Starpoints for two night stays during weeknights, and triple Starpoints during weekends through December 18, 2016.

Here’s the breakdown of prizes for the Open More contest –

SPG is giving away Starpoints in the increments of 1,000, 5,000, and 10,000. They’re also giving away Free Night Awards. The most common prize that can be won is the 1,000 Starpoints, and there are 630 of those prizes. For those hoping for a Free Night Award, there are 210 being given out, which can be redeemed at a Category 1-5 property.

One Grand Prize winner will receive 50,000 Starpoints plus five Free Night Awards which can be redeemed at properties in Category 1–6.

I entered the contest, and here’s my experience for those wondering the exact process or trying to figure out how much time it will take.

After I got to the contest landing page, I put in my SPG number, clicked enter, and then was taken to a page displaying 11 rotating room keys.

Each had a fun fact listed about the brand, and I was to pick a card.

I selected the St Regis branded card, as I remembered enjoyable stays at St Regis Bal Harbour and the St Regis Rome, among others.

The next screen had the message that perhaps tomorrow would be my lucky day as I wasn’t a winner this time.

The whole process took just a few minutes. Even if you don’t win instantly, you can enter again. If you are the sort that usually never wins, don’t give up as you never know what the next day’s entry holds! During SPG’s online Get in the Game Contest, I had played already for several days and was totally surprised when I won a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
