Guests sit underneath twinkling Christmas lights that show off cheery decor, trees glisten with ornaments and faux snow, and the menu includes christmas cookies and pigs in blankets.

A holiday party at a close friend’s house?

Nope. Nicknamed the Winter Wonderland, it is a pop-up bar by Harold’s Meat & Three conveniently located on the roof of the Arlo Hotel in downtown New York.

Open through the end of the year, you can get sausage balls for $6 and cheese puffs for $5. Of course, being a bar you can also enjoy some special seasonal drinks like a hot chocolate martini, fruitcake old-fashioned, or the Tom and Jerry for $14, which contains bourbon, nutmeg and eggnog.

The champagne punch Jingle Juice is sure to be a crowd-pleaser with cognac, cranberry and citrus, and it comes in pitcher form for $65, good for sharing.

Sometimes you’re stuck at work or away from home when you really wish you were surrounded by Christmas cheer. I love the idea of this pop-up Christmas-themed bar right on top of a hotel, and hopefully it gives some folks the chance for some quick holiday fun whether on the way home from work, after a business meeting, or when needing a little pick-me-up.
