Better Together First Quarter Promo for Marriott Rewards, SPG, and Ritz-Carlton Rewards
Starwood Preferred Guest, Marriott Rewards, and Ritz-Carlton Rewards have announced their promotion for the first quarter of 2017.
For the first time, all three have rolled out a promotion where their points offers are aligned, which is the latest way they are working to bridge the programs.
SPG, Marriott Rewards, and Ritz-Carlton are offering double points on your first three stays at participating properties in each program. Bonus points will be awarded to your account within 3-5 business days after you complete each stay. Here’s the landing page for the promotion.
Registration is required and must be done for each program separately. You can register between December 15, 2016 and March 15, 2017 (though if you are reading this you may as well register now so you don’t forget to do so later). The earning period for stays at all three programs is January 16, 2017 – April 15, 2017.

SPG’s Double Take promotion
SPG’s offer is a little more exciting then it originally appears, so the “Double-Take” moniker was well-chosen. The first three stays give double points, just like with Marriott Rewards and Ritz-Carlton Rewards. However, the SPG Double Take promo continues on to offer a personalized offer for each person once they register.
After I registered, I received my offer. I’d earn double Starpoints on my first three stays, but I’d also receive a bonus 15,000 Starpoints for completing all three.
Then starting on my 4th stay, once I reached 20 nights I’d get an additional 10,000 Starpoints.
If I completed another 20 nights, I’d get 500 Starpoints for each additional night up to 5,000 Starpoints (10 nights).
That means that I could earn up to 30,000 bonus Starpoints with the Double Take promo in the first quarter of 2017. Will I stay all 40 nights to earn the full bonus? Maybe, maybe not. But this sure adds some extra incentive to complete three stays at a minimum.
