Marriott’s Contest Exclusively for New Members
As the official sponsor of HKSEVENS Rugby Week, Marriott Rewards is running a contest especially for people who are not yet members of their loyalty program, and those with the 3 most creative and original entries will win some pretty cool prizes.
Called “Capture Your HKSEVENS Momentsâ€, the contest begins on March 15, 2017 and ends at 11:59pm (HKT) on 12 Apr 12, 2017.
The Grand Prize sounds dreamy. It is a four-day, three-night stay for two at the W Hotel Maldives in a Wonderful Beach Oasis room, including breakfast.
The 2nd Prize is a three-day, two-night stay for two at the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa in a Deluxe Room, including breakfast.
The 3rd Prize is a $200 Marriott certificate, which can be used at any Marriott International hotel worldwide.
Although the contest is being marketed in Hong Kong, according to the contest T&C it looks like it is open to everyone that is at least 18 years old and becomes a brand-new Marriott Rewards member by signing up via the contest page. There is no mention about country of residence, or exclusions.
Indeed, when testing out the sign-up there is a place to select country, and the US along with a ton more are listed.
You can sign up and enter between now and April 12, 2017. If you are already a member of Marriott Rewards or Ritz-Carlton Rewards, you are excluded from the contest (which means a large number of readers, including myself).
Here’s how to enter:
1. Go to www.MRxHKSevens.com and scroll to the bottom of the page to click the box to accept the terms & conditions of the contest, and follow along with the prompts to enroll in Marriott Rewards.
2. Take a photo or video with the HKSEVENS filter using the SNOW app (click here for the iOS version, and here for the Android version) and use Marriott Rewards Geo-filter or Face-filter.
3. Post it on Instagram or Facebook and include the hashtag #membersgetmore
Note that there is a limit of one entry per person.

The winners will be announced on Marriott’s Instagram page on April 15, 2017, and the prizes will be awarded within six weeks.
The prizes sound great. This sounds like a good way for Marriott Rewards to get new members and for new members to potentially get a really neat prize.
