Today is Week 2, Day 5 of the US Travel Association’s Daily Getaways.

For those not familiar with Daily Getaways, over the next three weeks, travel deals and packages will be available on a first-come first-served each weekday from April 10, 2017 through May 12, 2017. For a look back at week 1’s offers, click here.

The deal today is for Best Western Rewards points –

10,000 Best Western Rewards Points for $55 (835 packages available). Cost per point = .55 cents

The packages goes on sale at 1pm EST today.

To purchase the deal today, click the individual link above or follow this link to the calendar for the week of April 10, 2017 and select the package you are interested in. You can purchase a maximum of 5 sets of points, so you’d max out at 50,000 Best Western Rewards points for $275.

Best Western Rewards points are typically sold through Best Western to their members in increments of 1,000 for $10 (with a maximum of 20,000 points per transaction for US/Canadian residents) so if you purchase a Daily Getaways 10,000 points package you’ll be getting almost double the points you would ordinarily.

Best Western Rewards® points never expire, and there are over 4,200 properties worldwide. Many properties have inexpensive rates so it definitely doesn’t always make sense to pay with points, but some offer decent value like the Best Western Plus Monterey Inn in Monterey, California, that goes for around $230 a night or 36,000 points.

If redeeming points purchased through Daily Getaways at .55 cents per point that comes out to $198 a night, a savings over the $215 rate.

Best Western properties might not be your first choice but if you already have some points saved up perhaps from a bunch of work stays, you may find today’s points sale to be a good option to top up your account for an upcoming stay at one of their higher-end properties. Alternately, you can use them at convenient locations like airports.
