Why Universal Studios Front of the Line Tickets on Sale Today Are a Great Deal
We are in Week 2 of the US Travel Association’s Daily Getaways.
For those not familiar with Daily Getaways, travel deals and packages are offered on a first-come first-served each weekday from April 10, 2017 through May 12, 2017. For a look at previous offers or to learn more about the Daily Getaways click here.
Today’s deals are for Universal Studios Hollywood front of the line tickets –
1-day Universal Studios Hollywood Front of Line and admission ticket for $136 (250 packages available)
This includes a one-day admission ticket, Front of Line access to each attraction, and priority seating at all shows (excluding retail locations). You can purchase a maximum of 9 tickets with this deal.
The packages go on sale at 1pm EST today.
The blackout dates are: 7/1/17 – 8/12/17, 12/23/17 – 12/31/17, and 1/1/18 – 1/3/18.
To purchase the deals today, click the individual link above or follow this link to the calendar for the week of April 17, 2017 and select the package you are interested in.
Tickets must be used by April 30, 2018. Once you purchase, you’ll receive contact details for the Universal rep you need to contact to arrange e-ticket delivery. Once you receive your e-tickets you can print them out and used at the front gate for admission. They request you give at least 30 days notice before your visit.
Here’s why these tickets are such a great deal –
If you were to purchase tickets directly from Universal Studios Hollywood’s website, the Front of Line ticket price per day varies but taking a quick look I found $179 for offseason dates. That’s already a $43 savings if purchasing through Daily Getaways today.
When looking for popular dates in summertime the price ratchets up to $254. Of course, blackout dates apply for the entire month of July but there are also a couple dates of $254 tickets in August outside of the blackout dates, and plenty of $239 and $209 prices smattered throughout the remainder of the valid period (through April 30, 2018 which means spring break next year too).
Even for the off season dates at $179 or $199 or whatnot, you’re getting a really great deal . A family of four going on the cheapest days of the year you’ll be paying just $544 for a day of fun and Front Line access instead of $716 – a minimum savings of $172.
Plus, you can purchase up to 9 tickets so you aren’t stuck paying full price for a couple family members while others get the better price, and there is nothing that says you cannot use them on consecutive days.
If you really wanted to maximize, you could visit on Sunday-Monday August 13 & 14 when kids are out of school and prices are still sky-high at $254 a day. If you bought 8 tickets, a family of four could visit for two consecutive days with Front Line access for everyone, and pay $1088 instead of $2032.
When it comes to other options for Universal Studios Hollywood tickets, there is a California Neighbor Annual Pass option for locals which is offered at $129, but it does not come with Front of Line access, and there are blackout dates after the first visit.
If you purchase a Platinum Annual Pass it does come with Front of Line access, but it is a whopping $589 a person.
Since the T&C say to tell them 30 days in advance of your arrival, to maximize this deal, if you are planning on visiting during one of the prime dates when prices are highest make sure to mark your calendar to give them adequate heads-up.
The Daily Getaways deal today for these tickets is a great deal. Since there are only 250 packages, I expect them to go quickly. If you want to snag some tickets, make sure to have your credit card handy and be online and on the site ready to go before the deal goes live at 1pm EST. Right at the stroke of 1pm, refresh the page and try to buy. Keep refreshing and trying if you don’t succeed the first time, since there is always the possibility that someone will abandon their cart before buying and the tickets will be put back into the pool.
Good luck, and I hope some Magic of Miles readers manage to get some tickets!
