Daily Getaways Deals – Still Available!
The Daily Getaways deals offered this year by the US Travel Association were a fun way to get travel deals at a discount.
Different deals went live each day between April 10 and May 10 in limited amounts, and some of them sold out lightning quick like the one for discounted Hyatt points.
Other deals are actually still available, through May 26, 2017 (or until they sell out).
Here’s a look at the packages still up for grabs –
I wrote in detail about the discounted points packages available when the deal first went live, and noted that it is a good opportunity to get IHG Rewards Club points below the regular purchase rate.
IHG Rewards points can be great for redeeming at InterContinental properties and others at the upper end that typically require a lot of points for redemption.
One of my favorite ways to use IHG Rewards points is for PointBreaks properties where you can snag a hotel stay for just 5,000 points per night. From time to time an InterContinental property graces the list so I always keep a lookout for those since they offer exceptional value.
Sometimes IHG Rewards does have 100% bonus promotions for purchased points and you end up paying less per point than with this Daily Getaways offer, but overall I still think these IHG points packages have good value.
Avis President’s Club membership for $750
Membership is good for one year from the activation date. As a President’s Club member, you get two car class upgrades to the best car available when booking an intermediate sized car or above (Signature Series excluded) and guaranteed vehicle availability.
I am actually not surprised that this Avis package is still there. Upgrades aren’t guaranteed, and it seems you’d be paying a lot of money for few benefits. But, maybe a reader will find it good for them. Gary with View from the Wing learned the hard way that Hertz doesn’t guarantee vehicle availability. As a President’s Club with Avis member you do get guaranteed vehicle availability, so in some areas during certain times of year or around holidays this might be very useful indeed. Universal Orlando Resort Private VIP experience for $3,500
Universal Orlando Resortâ„¢ 4 Person Vacation for $2,642
Both of these Universal Orlando Resort packages offer a ton of potential for savings. I wrote about each of these packages in detail here, and if you calculate out the prices if you were to purchase everything separately yourself you’d easily spend much more money without the packages.
Busch Gardens Daily Getaways Deal. This deal gets you 1 single-day admission ticket (good for adult or child) to either Busch Gardens, Florida or Busch Gardens, Virginia (your choice) for $45. (1,393 packages available)
SeaWorld Daily Getaways Deal. This deal gets you 1 single-day admission ticket (good for adult or child) to either SeaWorld Orlando, Seaworld San Diego, or SeaWorld San Antonio (your choice) for $50 (2,362 packages available)
While the Busch Gardens deal has the most value when compared against to the SeaWorld one, both have value. Since tickets don’t need to be used until May 19, 2018 you have a looong time to redeem too. Click here for a breakdown on pricing for each of these deals and more details.
