Iconic SPG Property to Become a Four Seasons Hotel
The exclusive Astir Palace resort with two Starwood properties (Westin Athens & Arion) was an iconic playground for the elite, with a glittering past and boasting a celebrity guest list spanning over 50 years.
Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, and Aristotle Onassis to name a few, and then in late December, President Barack Obama during his last official foreign trip as president (bungalow suite 1014-1015, in case you’re curious, and you can read more about his stay at The Pappas Post).
The resort closed with a mysterious air and a tease of bigger things to come.
Then, just last month, Astir Palace Vouliagmeni and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced that they will be bringing the first Four Seasons hotel to Greece. After extensive upgrades and the addition of 13 high-end seafront residences as well as the creation of Peninsula Park, the new hotel will emerge as Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens in the spring of 2018.
Over 100 million EUR is being poured into the project. Once completed, the count of luxury bungalows and suites will hover around 300. Infinity pools, a beachfront promenade, restaurants, and a spa are planned. Interiors are being designed by Meyer Davis Studio, drawing inspiration from the local nature setting.
The shared beachfront area and hotels and expansive resort were a great package even before renovations started. I look forward to seeing what the new Four Seasons looks like after the renovations are all done, and this promises to be a stunning resort!
wow! I would like to see that too. I’d also like to see a Hyatt in Athens.
Athens would be a good location, Kathy. Every time I see a property anywhere getting added to the Hyatt portfolio I am glad!
