Hyatt Adds Miami Beach Property to Unbound Collection
Hyatt announced in early March that they were adding a brand called the Unbound Collection by Hyatt. One of the things that separates this brand from their others is that it is a compilation of independent hotels.
The first properties in the brand were:
– The Carmelo Resort & Spa in Uruguay, which was formerly a Four Seasons property.
– The Driskill in Austin, Texas
– The Hôtel du Louvre in Paris, France
A resort still in development but slated to be added is the Coco Palms in Kauai, Hawaii.
Today, USA Today shared that a fifth property will soon join the Unbound Collection.
According to the article, the beachfront Thompson Miami Beach known as a coastal oasis in Miami, will be purchased by Hyatt from an affiliate of Geolo Capital in late April (though the price is not being made public until the sale is complete).
Once taken over by Hyatt, the 380 guest room property will be renamed “The Confidante”. With an average rating of 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor, the hotel has two star chef restaurants, tropical garden, spa, and two heated pools. The property currently has 30 suites and a plethora different room types.
Checking the random date of Thursday April 21, 2016 for the lowest level room at the property, the rate came back at $322 for Florida residents, excluding a $25 resort fee. The AAA rate was $341, and the best available rate came to $379.
It is too soon to tell what changes will be made but this looks like a great new addition to Hyatt’s portfolio for the Unbound Collection!
