Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas To Start Charging for Parking, are Venetian and Palazzo Next?
Earlier this year I wrote about how MGM was starting to implement self-parking fees for many of their Las Vegas strip hotels, as part of an effort to “enhance” and expand parking spaces and subsidize MGM’s 3,000 space parking structure near Excalibur hotel.

MGM Grand
Bellagio
Mandalay Bay
The Mirage
CityCenter complex
Delano
Luxor
Excalibur
Monte Carlo
New York-New York
Vdara
Aria
As expected, Caesars Entertainment Corp. made the announcement earlier this week that it will start charging for parking at eight of their nine Las Vegas properties.
The first ones to see fees implemented will be:
The Linq Hotel & Casino
Harrah’s Las Vegas
Beginning December 19, 2016 guests of the Linq and Harrah’s hotels as well as visitors will be charged valet fees – $8 for four hours and $13 per 24 hours. Self-parking will stay free for the time being until “self parking equipment is installed” according to Caesar’s press release.
In early 2017 (no specific dates yet), the following hotels will begin charging fees for self-parking as well as valet:
Flamingo Las Vegas
Caesars Palace
Bally’s
The Cromwell
Paris
Planet Hollywood
The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is not slated to charge for self-parking or valet, and parking will remain free (for now at least).
Now Wynn Resorts is jumping on the bandwagon, and will be implementing fees at the following hotels in mid-December:
Wynn Las Vegas
Encore
Wynn rates for valet parking will be $13 for the first four hours, $18 for four to 24 hours, and $18 for every additional 24 hours. Self-parking will remain free for now.
The growing trend of getting extra revenue for parking on the strip seems to be picking up speed, and Local Las Vegas Now TV station asked Venetian and Palazzo if they would start charging for parking, and they said they did not have any plans to do so at this time. I can only wonder how long it will be before all Las Vegas hotels will charge though.
