Instagram is a popular place to share your world with others, and peer into the lives of others. You can find everything from babies and nature to photos of half-eaten meals and doorknobs.

Out of all those who use Instagram (more than 300 million daily users in 2016), some locations and shots are more popular than others. As 2016 comes to a close, Instagram has revealed the most Instagrammed hotels and resorts of 2016.

Are the results what you expected?

I was a little surprised that 5 out of the 10 were in Las Vegas, but given the sheer volume of tourists that visit Las Vegas every day plus the fact that each hotel has nightly concerts and shows it makes sense. Also, keep in mind that these aren’t necessarily the top 10 best hotels in the world, just the most frequently Instagrammed.

The most Instagrammed places in the world are a slightly different story, with Las Vegas Strip down in the #7 spot. Disney Theme Parks took top billing, showing that all the world is charmed by Mickey and Co.
