Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport
I’ve stayed at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport many times, since it is conveniently located 2 miles away from the airport and offers a free 24-hour complimentary shuttle (which runs in a loop every 10-15 minutes).
It’s a large property, with 789 guest rooms and a huge atrium in the center of the hotel. The atrium is decorated with lots of plants and there’s even a waterfall to add a feeling of nature to the space.
I’d never had a suite at this property before, which is understandable with just 26 of them in the whole hotel. On a recent stay though I was fortunate enough to get one, a Bayview Suite.
The door to the room opened into the sitting room, which featured a flat screen TV and ample seating. The table was decorated with a bowl of fresh cheery flowers, and was accompanied by the hotel familiarization book, and a remote.
The rooms have recently been renovated, but I don’t think it was a complete re-do as there was still some old furniture.
A cozy table with tall chairs made a great place for a snack or meal. A well-sized, already chilled refrigerator was in the corner.
There were a couple of bottles of complimentary Aquafina and an individual coffee maker.
The bathroom had the upgraded Portico amenities found in Hyatt suites, and an appreciated travel-sized tube of Aquafresh toothpaste.
Passing through the living area into the bedroom, there was another flat screen TV and another chair.
The bedroom was clean and had matching lamps on either side of the bed. There were plenty of pillow choices, some soft, firm, feather, and synthetic. The bed itself was comfortable and the room was quiet.
One wall had little glass blocks that let in light from the hallway on the other side, but didn’t make it too see-through. It reminded me a bit of the 80’s.
The view from the window offered the perfect vantage point to sit and watch the planes arriving into SFO. What a fun way to pass the time!
This hotel was convenient and quiet for an airport hotel so I’ll definitely stay here again. The Club Lounge was located on the 9th floor and seemed a bit cramped, so I’d probably skip that part next time.
