Small Luxury Hotels 30% Off Sale
Small Luxury Hotels of the World is having a sale for members with 30% off the best available rate at participating hotels booked by January 8, 2017.
30% off isn’t the best that SLH offers throughout the year, and 40% and 50% flash sales are common. The interesting and somewhat unusual thing about this sale is that it is good for stays all the way through the end of December 2017.
Using the random dates of December 7-9, 2017 I chose the Hotel Die Hirschgasse Heidelberg in Germany. The rate came back at an entirely reasonable $135.47 a night, where nightly best available rates for 2016 hovered around $180 (when there wasn’t a sale).
The huge drawback on this sale is that the rates are prepaid, non-changeable, and non-refundable.
Here’s a link to the booking page.
If you have solid plans that you need to book hotels for, this sale might work well for you. I tend to book a lot of travel pretty far out but make a lot of changes and adjustments so I almost always book refundable hotel rates. Being stuck with a nonrefundable hotel reservation that you cannot use is no fun, but there are still things you can do about it if you find yourself in that situation.
Some people book their entire year of travels all at once or as soon as they know their travel dates, and don’t care if the rates are nonrefundable because they are certain that their plans won’t change. They just want to get the bookings done and it drives them nuts when sales are only good for a few months out. If that sounds like you, it might be worth it to check out this sale.
