The First Park Hyatt in the Caribbean is Now Open
Park Hyatt announced today that it has opened the first Park Hyatt property in the Caribbean, the Park Hyatt St. Kitts.
The brand-new beachfront hotel is tucked away in Christophe Harbour, located just a twenty minute drive from the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport. It is also situated about 25 minutes away from Bassaterre. The Park Hyatt St Kitts offers transfers from the airport for $50 per person each way. For those that rent a car and drive to the hotel, valet parking onsite is complimentary for all resort guests.
Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour has three restaurant dining options:
• Fisherman’s Village, which serves lunch and dinner with views over the water
• The Great House is the all-day dining restaurant, and it includes a Rum Bar, herb garden, and a conservatory that serves afternoon tea
• The Stone Barn is an adults-only restaurant
There is a 37,000 square foot onsite spa called Miraval Life in Balance, which has natural stone walls and nine treatment rooms. Three couples’ treatment rooms have private plunge pools and outdoor showers.
The Miraval spa even has a special signature tea with basil, thyme, and lemongrass.
The Sugar Mill is the Park Hyatt St. Kitt’s 24-hour, 1,750 square foot fitness center that offers yoga and meditation experiences.
Park Hyatt St. Kitts has 78 guestrooms and 48 suites for a total room count of 126, and rooms have been designed to maintain the colonial feel of the island.
Here’s a good look at the different room types and pricing.
The introductory Standard Park room has 527 square feet and has either two queen beds or one king. All rooms have rain showers, deep soaking tubs, balconies and terraces.
Doing random searches, it looks like nightly best available rates start around $425. The Park Hyatt St Kitts in the Caribbean will set you back 30,000 World of Hyatt points if you choose to redeem instead, as it is a category 7 property.
The next step up are the View rooms, that are very similar to the Standard rooms but have views of Banana Bay, Straits of Nevis, or the beach. Guestroom types are listed as Beachside or Sea View.
The Suite category above View is a bit roomier, and the standard suite you’d most likely get when using a confirmed suite upgrade is called the Park Suite, starting at 708 square feet. The website says the ADA Park Suite also comes with a separate lounge area and a spacious interior. The Park Suite nightly rate was listed at $975 for the random dates I checked.
There are several other Suite categories, and in order by rate they are the Beachside Suite, Sea View Suite, and a few specialty suites – Nevis Peak Suite, and Park Executive Suite. The Park Executive Suite comes with a private plunge pool, though the nightly rate is a bit prohibitive at $1900+.
The primo offering is the Presidential Villa for $5000+ per night at 1,119 square feet on the top floor which comes with private infinity pool, wellness area, butler, and private chef. There aren’t a lot of photos yet of the rooms but here’s the one on the website for the Presidential Villa which is noted as being of the entrance.
This brand-new property in the Caribbean looks amazing, and I hope to visit someday. Park Hyatt hotels are some of my favorites and a relaxing property in the Caribbean sounds like a great addition to their portfolio.
