Hotel Review: Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome
The grey of wintertime had passed, and the cheerful blooms of Paris beckoned. My husband and I decided to bring along some family members for a holiday in Paris, so I reserved one regular Deluxe Room and one Park Suite at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome. During the time of booking, this property was still a Category 6, so it cost just 33,000 points per night for a suite, and 22,000 for a regular room.
Checking in, the suite was not yet ready. The hostess asked kindly if we would mind enjoying a complimentary meal in the hotel restaurant  La Terrasse while waiting. Would we?! My eyebrows shot up as I got a glimpse of the menu prices. Lunch included Champagne, a pasta with fresh summer peas, a burger, an espresso, and a summer berry tart to share. Heavenly!
The check for 146 EUR was waived, and we went to go check out our family’s room first, which was a Deluxe Room.
There were deep gold tones and soft velvet pillowcases. Beautiful light came streaming in through the window.
Around the room there were a variety of bronze figurines which had been designed by Roseline Granet. They stretched up towards the lights, and were reflected double in the mirrors.
There was a large desk, TV, and sitting area.
Just off to the side of the room was a spacious closet with slippers, robes, and plenty of storage.
The bathroom had plenty of towels, cool limestone flooring, and gold fixtures.
There was an ornate wooden box on the vanity with mouthwash, lotion, cotton pads, Q-tips, comb, etc etc. Just in case you’d forgotten anything at home (or couldn’t fit any more in your suitcase).
The unique scented amenities are created for the hotel by Blaise Mautin, and are reminiscent of orange, sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla.
After checking out the Deluxe Room, we got a call that our suite was ready, and we were surprised to hear that we’d been upgraded to a Park Executive Suite! We excitedly headed over to see. To start, it had same sumptuous bedding, limestone flooring, and luxuriously thick towels.
A full sized deep soaking tub was positioned so you could hop back and forth into the shower.
The suite had a large sitting room.
A large desk had a TV hung above, and a Blu-ray player was just underneath.
On the desk was a welcome gift, a box of buttery thin cookies.
Two tall glass bottles of still Evian waited on top of the minibar, along with a tea and coffee maker.
The sitting room had an exciting surprise feature  – a fireplace! It was summertime, but I was almost tempted to light a fire one of the evenings, just to enjoy it.
The bedroom was gorgeous. Gold touches, mahogany headboard, soft sheets, and bedside lights with convenient switches.
It also had a full-length door leading to a charming balcony. Here’s the view from inside.
Stepping outside into the fresh air, there was a stately view of the Rue de la Paix and looking to the right, the effect was stunning. It was the Place Vendome and the Colonne Vendome!
Breakfast the next morning was served at Les Orchidees on the first floor. It typically costs 44 EUR for the buffet, but as a Diamond it was complimentary. I was guided to a table with a centerpiece of orchids. I had a fun time perusing the extensive breakfast menu, and finally decided to go with the buffet.
The buffet was extensive, with cereals, meat, yogurts, quiche, bircher muesli, even specialty smoothies and Lungo espresso.
There were plenty of delicious pastries too. Park Hyatt Vendome is also known for their Kouign Amann, which are quite delicious and not easy to find even in bakeries.
One morning I ordered the “healthy breakfast”, which came with custom-made smoothies, tea, and the most delectable scrambled eggs.
Chocolate pots de creme provided a decadent finish to the meal.
After breakfast, I headed out to do some sightseeing, and found that I was just steps away from everything I wanted to see. Place Vendome is down the street, and the Louvre and the Avenue des Champs-Élysées are just a 15 minute walk.
I enjoyed my stay here immensely. This really is a world class property, and it is hard to fault them for anything. The service was warm, the room was beautiful, and I look forward to returning!

Having stayed in a few cramped quarters or institutional hotels in Paris I was pleased with the feel of the Park Hyatt. I would not be paying this much if cash, which limited my options in town outside at the higher end of side of points. Would stay there again.
Hello, I am a Hyatt Diamond as well. Did you book both rooms out of your account? I thought you could only book one Gold Passport room at a time. Or did you transfer points to another account? If so, did that room also get Diamond benefits? Thanks.
Hi pk, although the Hyatt website only lets you book one room at a time, you are allowed to book up to three rooms. I prefer calling the Diamond line so they can reserve them all at once.
In my opinion Paris is not the best city to stay in a Park Hyatt that charges over 1,000 euros per night or 30,000 points. My point is that the city offers amazing boutique hotels for way less that the price Hyatt charges and you get probably a similar or more personalized experience as staying at the Hyatt. You cansave the 30,000 points to places where you don’t get the options you get in Paris. Also, the last place you want to spend time in Paris is in your hotel.
