Because of an early flight out the next morning, I made a King Room reservation for just one night at the Four Points Sheraton Sacramento Airport. The hotel is only 3 miles from the airport, and even though I had a rental car they offer free shuttle service to and from the airport. Parking is free. For locals who are looking for a good place to park while away, they also have a Park & Stay package where you pay for one night and parking for 7 days is included.

Arriving at the hotel around 10pm, the lady at check-in was still wide awake and cheerful.

The lobby area had several chairs, a couch, and looked like a comfortable place to wait.

There were still a couple people at the bar.

The hostess at reception offered me a room on the 4th (top) floor, and pointed out the little store area should I have a craving for snacks or ice cream. I declined for the time being and took the elevator up.

I find elevator notices interesting, to see what current events the hotel has going on. This one was a nod to Four Points’ Best Brews program, which offers local beers and seasonal ales.

Starting with the bathroom, I noticed it had been designed for efficiency, with wall-mounted containers of shampoo and soap.

The counter was large enough for my toiletry kit, and there were enough towels of each size.

Four Points branded amenities were offered, though I had brought my own.

There were wall hooks rather than a rack to hold towels.

In the bedroom, there was a coffee machine with an fun-looking bag of coffee and some sugars and creamer nearby.

I was pleased to find that the room was clean and quiet. There was a nice bench just inside the room, perfect for opening my suitcase out onto.

Storage bins were inside so it could be used like a chest of drawers, just more convenient for suitcases of any size.

DSC05695

There was a desk with drawers, and a convenient set of outlets on the top for charging electronics

An ice bucket was on the desk, next to two complimentary bottles of water.

There was also a wardrobe in the room if I wanted to hang some items up, and a wall mounted TV was closet to the desk.

The temperature was a bit warm so I turned on the A/C. The controls were responsive, the air cooled down quickly, and thankfully the wall unit wasn’t too noisy.

I slept well and since I had to wake up so early I skipped breakfast, checked out of the hotel and went straight to the airport. This was a pleasant hotel for a quick overnight stay before my early morning flight, and I would stay here again.
