Marriott Hotels Launches their 4-D Teleporter Today

Marriott Hotels is teleporting travelers in eight cities starting today in New York. They’ll whisk guests to the bustling city of London and the balmy beaches of Hawaii all from something that looks like a phone booth. I’m intrigued. Back to the Future, anyone?

Partnering with Academy Award-winning Framestore, guests will not only see and hear what it is like to be in other parts of the world but also feel feel too.

Guests put on a virtual reality headset, wireless headphones, and experience 4-D elements like wind, heat and mist.

September 19-23: New York Marriott Marquis
September 26-29: Boston Marriott Cambridge
October 2-5: Marriott Marquis Washington DC
October 9-12: Atlanta Marriott Marquis
October 17-20: Dallas Marriott City Center
October 24-27: San Diego Marriott Marquis
November 6-9: San Jose Marriott
November 13-16: San Francisco Marriott Marquis

I love Hawaii, and the experience is supposed to make you feel like you’re at Wai’anapanapa’s black sand beach in Maui. The warm sun on your face, waves underfoot, and ocean spray in your face, sounds pretty cool. Part of the virtual tour includes a new Marriott lobby, and also of London’s downtown.
