New Ritz-Carlton Bali Now Open
Bali is one of my favorite places, and the new Ritz-Carlton Bali opened this week in Sawangan, Nusa Dua (about 30 minutes away from Ngurah Rai airport). The hotel is situated on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean and the resort is spread out over 30 acres.
The hotel has 313 guest rooms, 34 of which are cliff top and ocean view villas. A 230 foot glass elevator whisks guests down to the beach, and there’s a separate pool and sun deck at the resort just for Club Level guests. Here’s a drawing from their website showing the elevator.
Ritz Kids’ has it’s own building and separate pool for tykes, and a Ritz-Carlton Spa is coming soon. The Ritz-Carlton, Bali has six different restaurants, all focusing on local fare. There’s The Beach Grill, right on the shore, Senses, their all-day dining, Breezes Tapas Lounge serving light meals by the pool, Raku, their Japanese restaurant, and The Ritz-Carlton Lounge & Bar.
The property has a theme known as “Kalpataru”, meaning Tree of Life and representing strength, wisdom and beauty. According to the press release it “reinforces The Ritz-Carlton’s commitment to inspiring life’s most meaningful journeys, with authentic and harmonious experiences and indigenous design elements.”
Looking at their website, it looks like the room choices are Villas
Or Suites! The lowest room category is a Jr Suite at over 1000 square feet.
There’s a nifty little spreadsheet on their website that easily compares the different room types. Click here to download the PDF copy. Here’s the one for Villas –
And the one for Suites –
All of them look pretty amazing.
The Ritz-Carlton Oceanfront Villa is their top offering which has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and has a whopping 7,290 square feet. There are no actual pictures of the Villa on the website yet but here’s an artist rendering –
Only the Garden Villa showed available during my searches, so I’m not sure if all the others are ready just yet.
The Pool Pavilion Villas has direct access to the swimming pool, but all the other Villas have their own swimming pools!
Pricing starts at $350 for the Jr Suite.
Checking redemption possibilities using some random dates in the next few months, the Jr Suite type is available at 50,000 Points.
This looks like a great property and I can’t wait to check it out!

Never been to Bali but would like to go there next year. Which property do you think offer the best value (looking for medium range costs) or I can use points/certificates?
