SPG Hot Escapes Good Picks for February 18, 2015

The weekly list of SPG Hot Escapes is out. Last week had a ton of properties on offer, while this week the list is a little light with a grand total of 28 including a single hotel in the US.

For those who aren’t familiar with Hot Escapes, SPG combined Beat The Timer for Hot Escapes and Starpicks into something called Hot Escapes. Every Wednesday at 6am EST new properties are added and must be booked by that Saturday, for stays during the following six weeks. As an SPG member, you also save an extra 5% and earn points for the stay.

The only downside is that reservations are prepaid, and if you change or cancel a fee is involved.

It’s a bit of slim pickings this week but there are still some decent offers.

The Four Points by Sheraton Memphis East is the sole US property on offer this week, at a SPG member rate of $83 only on the night of February 21st.

The Sheraton Essen hotel in Germany is at $82 for a few dates.

Thailand has three properties on offer, with the Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas about $30 higher a night at $175 than when they were last on offer in November.

The W Barcelona is $154 for the night of February 22 only, though I’m not sure that would be my first choice when staying in Barcelona after reading about One Mile at a Time’s disturbing incident during a recent stay.

Sheraton Samoa Aggie Grey’s Resort in Samoa has wide open availability at $154 and the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort in Lombok Indonesia is at $75 for one night but has most nights for $82.

Personally I’d typically rather redeem points for a hotel stay in the $400+ per night range, but if you’ve been wanting to go to the Maldives and looking for the rate to be lowered a bit the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is at 25% off for $454 a night.

The Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastian, Spain is at $184 a night if the 24th or 26th of February are the nights you want to stay.
