TownePlace Suites Selfie With a Suitcase Contest

TownePlace Suites by Marriott in conjunction with The Container Store are running a contest to find a person whose suitcase has the most interesting story. From now through June 21, 2015 participating Container Stores will have selfie stations ready to take pictures but entrants can also just upload and submit their entries online.

The contest question is, “If my suitcase could talk, where would it take me and why?” The answer must be in 50 words or less.

The Grand Prize is a 4-night stay at any TownePlace Suites property, along with a $500 merchandise card for The Container Store.

There are also weekly prize winners that will each receive their choice of either a $100 TownePlace Suites gift card or a $100 The Container Store gift card.

The Grand Prize winner will be judged on – originality/creativity of entry (34%), quality of photo (33%) and most interesting/well-written comment (33%).

There are three ways to enter –

2. Click here to enter via Facebook.

3. Stop by a The Container Store to take your picture, then tweet on Twitter including #SelfiewithaSuitcase, #Promo, and @TownePlacePromo within the entry.

Reading the full contest story I imagined photos of suitcases that had been through 20+ years of heavy travel to far-flung corners of the world, with the suitcase owner experiencing a plethora of amazing sights.

“Imagine the stories your suitcase could tell – packed, unpacked, overhead storage, cargo, security check, lost and found in a new destination. A suitcase belonging to a frequent traveler has one interesting life. It experiences all the thrills and excitement associated with travel escapades. Everyday trekkers discuss their adventures with family, friends and social media followers but what would your suitcase say if it could talk? Where would it take you and why?”

Checking out the entries so far though wasn’t very inspiring to me. I know the contest just barely started yesterday, but so far there is only one “selfie” that includes a suitcase at all! I’m not a judge but I think there’s plenty of room for winning photos. The contest is even called, “Selfie with a suitcase!”
