Loyalty Traveler has highlighted the new Hilton Category changes that will be implemented July 9, 2014.

The last round of Hilton category changes was in April. Yesterday Hilton announced the date of their second quarter financial report, and although there was no announcement the new redemption rates were posted on their website.
This seems to mean that Hilton is leaning towards doing category changes quarterly, rather than on an annual basis.

Here is the list of increases:

If Hilton is moving towards quarterly category changes, this makes it tougher for people to save points with a particular property in mind. By the time they may have the required amount, the amount needed to redeem may increase. Hopefully their next category change will be done by actual announcement rather than just having the website quietly show the differences. At least the changes aren’t immediately in effect though.
