Marriott has announced that due to an improving economy and rising middle class, it plans to add 1,300 hotels to its portfolio by 2017. That’s roughly 6 hotels per week, which is a lot of new properties.

Two are being added to its Autograph Collection in Spring of 2015. One in Zurich, Switzerland and the other in Barcelona, Spain.

The Kameha Grand Zurich will be the first Autograph Collection hotel in Zurich. Set to open in March, it will have 245 guest rooms, (including 11 themed suites), Italian and Japanese Restaurants, along with a shisha lounge.

The 83 room Cotton House hotel in Barcelona will also open in Spring 2015. Located in a 19th century building in the city center, many rooms will have balconies, and the hotel will have a rooftop pool and terrace.
