Gaylord Hotels have been working hard on their spectacular Christmas decorations for months, and just put their holiday season packages on sale today for stays at four resorts from mid November through early January. It’s still swimming pool season, but for all you early bird planners, imagine millions of twinkly Christmas lights, ice slides, Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunts, snow tubing, ice skating, visits with Santa, character breakfasts, and a Gingerbread Decorating Corner.

Mike Stengel, senior vice president of Gaylord Hotels said, “On some of July’s hottest days, we are focused on highly unseasonable tasks. It’s crunch time for us, and we’re already hanging holiday lights in Nashville. With resorts this large, it takes many months to create the magical settings travelers and locals alike look forward to as part of their holiday traditions.â€

They’ve ordered 8 million pounds of ice blocks to create their frozen attraction called ICE! with multistory slides. That’s a lot of ice.

New this year is the Frostbite Factory inside ICE!, where you can watch ice carvers in action, and some locations will have an ice bar for adults.

Special holiday packages are available for stays of 1 to 3 nights, and each property has slightly different offers. You can get them including everything but the kitchen sink (room, gingerbread decorating, scavenger hunt, carriage ride, family photo, ICE! entry, snow tubing, craft & gift show entry, riverboat cruise, etc.) and you can simply get tickets for just ICE! and walk around to marvel at the decorations.
