For professional artists, renting a music studio can get expensive, and creating music in regular hotel rooms often bothers other guests. To give them another option, W Hotels worldwide has introduced new Sound Suites, which are private music studios and writer’s rooms that are perfect for recording tunes while traveling.

Aspiring artists and regular hotel guests can book the rooms too, so if you want to be the next Beyonce you can live out your dream….in the recording studio at least. Each Sound Suite reservation comes with a private master class too so beginners won’t feel lost.

The first Sound Suite to open is at the W Bali Seminyak, with others slated to open at the W Hollywood, W Barcelona, and W Seattle later on this year and more to follow.

The sound-proof space consists of a main mixing room with professional equipment, a private vocal booth with views of a tropical garden, minibar, lighting systems, and a lounge that fits 25 people. LiveStream and Go-Pro cameras are available (presumably for an extra charge) so you can memorialize the event. One of the W’s global partners, Coca-Cola, provided fun red printed lyrics on the suite walls. The Sound Suite at the Bali W is located on the lobby level, and is open from 8am-1am.

The W Retreat Bali Sound Suite booking page shows two different Sound Suite packages (and a glimpse at the studio). One package comes with breakfast for two, a four-hour session with a music curator, Wifi, access to the fitness center, and an AWAY Spa Detox Chamber. The second package includes an outdoor garden space for 100 people, catering, DJ booth setup, and a Sound Engineer.

The link to the first package takes you to the spa page, and the link to the second opens up an email window to send them a request so it doesn’t look like you can actually book the Sound Suites online just yet.

It does say on the website that outside guests not on property can also get individual studio sessions for the cost of IDR4.000.000 – IDR6.000.000 for four hour and eight hour sessions. Convert that to US Dollars, and the sound suites go for $300 to $500 for four or eight hour rentals. That’s much lower than I expected, but then I’m not in the music industry and don’t know how much it would typically cost.

To celebrate the new Sound Suites, the W Bali will be adding new items to their dining menu as well, so you can eat like a rock star. Here’s a sampling from the press release –

THE DIVA // Lanson Brut Champagne, Lobster Salad with Osetra Caviar & #Lemonade
THE ROCK STAR // Black Martini & W Candy Shop
THE STUDIO GEEK // Espresso & Artisanal House-made Cracker Jacks
THE HIP HOP CLASSIC // Ciroc Ultra-Premium, Cranberry, Wagyu Beef Sliders & Truffle Fries
THE INDIE KID // Bucket of Local Bintang Beer, Smoked Tom Yum Peanuts & Casava Chips
THE POP PRINCESS // Raspberry & Rose Bellini, Tropical Fruit & Nitro Bubble Gum Sorbet
THE PARTY STARTER // Lilla Margarita & Wasabi Crab Tacos
THE JAZZ HANDS // Coca-Cola® Bombay Mocktail & Iberico Jamons

Do you know any musicians who would use a Sound Suite?
