Starwood Hotels will soon be adding a fourth property to their portfolio in Koh Samui. Currently there’s a W Koh Samui, Le Méridien Koh Samui Resort & Spa, and Vana Belle, a Luxury Collection Resort, Koh Samui. The Sheraton Samui Resort is set to open in December 2014.

The property is currently the Imperial Samui Beach Resort, which has 141 rooms, a long stretch of beach, and is located 15 minutes from the Samui International Airport. The Sheraton Samui Resort will have a Shine Spa, Kids Club and Feast, a Sky Light Lounge and Tara Restaurant. There are two swimming pools, one fresh water and the other salt water with a view of the Gulf of Thailand.

I checked on SPG’s website to see the new property, but it is not ready to accept bookings just yet.

On Imperial Samui’s website, selecting the random date of Saturday September 20, 2014 I found that their basic Sea Facing Room was just $126 a night.

Interestingly, their reservations system allows dates to be selected all the way through the end of October, 2015. Here’s the pricing for Friday October 30, 2015, all of which includes breakfast.

Once the property has been taken over by Sheraton, I figure any existing reservations will transfer over to the new system. It’ll be interesting to see what changes are made to the hotel and how the new pricing will look.
