Starwood is offering an incentive to stay at six of their brands before December 31, 2014. All stays beginning January 1, 2014 are included, even if you didn’t register ahead of time. However, registration must be completed by November 30, 2014.

To encourage members to stay at different places, if you stay at any six of their nine brands you’ll earn:

Five elite nights towards status

If you stay at eight of their nine brands, you’ll also get:

15,000 bonus Starpoints
A surprise gift

Loyalty Lobby who highlighted this promotion noted that it is only open to members who are residents of Greater China: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. If you try to register with a non-Greater China address in your profile you’ll get the following message –

Even though the entry page displays their brands located in China, the terms of the promotion do not state that stays need to be in China to qualify.

Here’s a registration link for those who can take advantage of the promotion, which is a great way to get some bonuses especially if you’ve already completed some stays at their different brands.

Terms & Conditions:

This promotion is available to any SPG® member who is a resident of Greater China: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan (“Eligible SPG member”).

Eligible SPG member must register at spg.com/stayeight by 30 November 2014, 11:59pm EST. After completing a stay at hotels and resorts under any six of the nine Starwood-owned brands (Aloft®, ElementSM, Four Points® by Sheraton, Le Méridien®, Sheraton®, St. Regis®, The Luxury Collection®, W® and Westin®) during the Promotion Period (as defined below), eligible SPG members can earn five elite-qualifying nights. Eligible SPG members who have stays under eight Starwood brands can additionally earn 15,000 bonus Starpoints® and a gift.

To receive your gift, be sure to include your mobile phone number and confirm your mailing address in your spg.com profile, and complete eligible stays at hotels and resorts representing eight Starwood brands during the Promotion Period. Starwood is not responsible for any failure to mail you the gift if there is no valid mobile number provided.

Promotion Period: 1 January until 31 December 2014. Eligible stays must be completed by 31 December 2014. All eligible stays consumed in 2014, beginning on 1 January 2014, count towards your total for the rewards. Register by 30 November 2014. Promotion is not transferable. Bookings made prior to the Promotion Period are eligible, but only eligible stays consumed during the Promotion Period will earn a bonus.

An eligible stay is a stay with at least one eligible paid night at any of the over 1,100 participating Starwood hotels and resorts paying an eligible paid rate during the Promotion Period. An eligible rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest® programme. Free Night Awards and Cash & Point stays and nights are not eligible as part of this promotion. A listing of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and a description of eligible stays and eligible rates can be found at spg.com under the programme terms and conditions. See Section 1.4 for the complete definition of eligible rates, but note that certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, Expedia.com, booking.com or other third-party booking sites) are not eligible rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify towards promotional earnings.

Bonus elite-qualifying nights will be credited to the member’s account 4–6 weeks after promotion ends on 31 December 2014. The bonus elite-qualifying nights that post to the member’s account as result of the offer will not count towards SPG Lifetimeâ„¢ status nights requirements. Bonus elite qualifying nights do count towards annual elite-qualification earnings and towards achieving nights-based benefits at 50, 75 and 100 nights annually.

This promotion may be combined with other promotions in market during the same time; however, earnings are exclusive of each other.

  1. couple of yrs ago they had a surprise gift for those who hit all 9 brands, i think it was a very nice 3 nights certificate to any spg hotel…any info on that?

  2. It makes very little sense either for your readers or SPG to blog about targeted promotions like this one. Those who are targeted will know anyway and those who aren’t will merely be frustrated.
