Sheraton has an easy way to earn 3,000 Starpoints per stay through November 30, 2014.

All you have to do is register, book and stay in a participating Sheraton property Club room between September 9 and November 30, 2014, pay with any American Express Card, and earn bonus Starpoints for stays.

From their website –

“Stay one night and earn 500 Starpoints.
Stay two consecutive nights and earn 1,000 Starpoints.
Stay three or more consecutive nights, and earn 3,000 Starpoints.”

Here’s a registration link.

Checking a random September date’s rate at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, the Club Room came to $219. The lowest rate for a regular room came to $169. That is a $50 difference which is the norm when comparing a regular room with a Club level room.

If you aren’t Platinum with Starwood, Club level rooms come with free lounge breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres & alcohol, and usually free Wifi as well. The great part about this promotion is that there is no cap to the number of bonus Starpoints that can be earned.
