I received an email that Starwood is offering up to 40% off redemptions made at Caesars hotels before November 27, 2104 for stays between November 7 and December 30, 2014. In fact, the email subject said save 40%, not save up to 40%.

I used the link to take a look.

Selecting the random date of Saturday November 15 for one night, I scanned the list of properties and was only able to find something called Fall Into Savings that offered 10% off.

I tried Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City, Reno and New Orleans with the same date but didn’t find any redemption discounts at all. Doing another search for Las Vegas I changed the dates to 3 nights instead of 1, using November 17 to 20th, 2014. The search came back with increased savings for a Stay 3 Nights Get 33% off.

I inched the number of days to 4, figuring that’s when I’d see the 40% off but I was wrong. 5 days, 6, two weeks, none of them brought me to 40%. I found 25% off when staying 2 nights or more, but was not able to duplicate the higher savings. I contacted SPG and also Total Rewards, and neither were able to provide any hints as to the winning combo to hit 40% off. The best they could find was 33% off when staying 3 nights or more. I also was unable to find any Terms & Conditions for the offer.

It is Vegas though, so maybe you’ll hit the jackpot!

Bookings must be made by November 27, 2014.

Also in Vegas, there’s currently a SPG moments offering for the Las Vegas Life is Beautiful Festival. The current bid is at 39,500 Starpoints.

Here’s a link to the bidding page.

The winner and a guest will get 2 tickets for the entire festival, from October 24-26, 2014. They’ll also get 3 nights of accommodations at Caesars, and daily limo service from the hotel to the festival and back again. The lineup of performers includes Lionel Richie, Arctic Monkeys, The Flaming Lips, Kanye West, and a special Cirque du Soleil show of The Beatles LOVE.

  1. I think that’s actually a decent deal for the Life is Beautiful festival. We went last year and really enjoyed it. VIP tickets run $600 each and between the hotel and limo service, you may actually get a good rate for your points.
