Expedia is running a sweepstakes where you can win a million Expedia+ rewards points, and you don’t have to buy anything. There are also five runner-up prizes of 100,000 points each. Expedia prefers that you enter by using your MasterCard when booking a hotel stay, cruise, or flight and hotel package by November 3, 2014. You’ll automatically receive one entry for each purchase.

Here’s a booking link for those who want to use their MasterCard.

However, MasterCard isn’t always the best credit card to use when making travel purchases.

Here’s a way to enter the contest without purchasing anything at all. Just follow these easy steps:

1. Send an email to sweepstakes@expedia.com with the subject line referencing “Fall 2014 Expedia+ rewards Sweepstakes”

2. In the body of the email put your first name, last name, mailing address, phone number and email address.

3. Send the email, and you’ll automatically get one entry in the contest.

Note: You cannot use multiple email addresses for the same person, and a confirmation email will not be sent. The sweepstakes is only open to residents of the US.

Around November 10, 2014 winners will be drawn randomly and contacted with the details on their prize. Expedia estimates the value of the cool million Expedia+ rewards points to be $14,000, and the 100,000 point prizes at $1,400.

What would you do with a million Expedia+ rewards points?

  1. thanks! just entered! interestingly, there is nothing in the official rules about multiple entries NOT being allowed… just that you can’t use alternate email addresses. so in theory you would be within the rules to send dozens of entries from your main email address. I think. 😉
