Marriott opened up their mobile check-in for use at thousands of properties back in 2013, and the added feature has been a success. Recently they just hit the millionth mobile check-in, and to celebrate they are running a sweepstakes.

The millionth guest to use mobile check-in was surprised at the JW Marriott in downtown LA with a party. Acrobats, a DJ, confetti, dancers and a million Marriott Rewards points were waiting for him. Watch the fun here

The Marriott Mobile App allows guests to check-in after 4pm the day before arrival, and guests receive a notification when their room is ready. To download the app click here.

The neat part is that all Marriott Rewards members who check-in at participating properties in the US, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands using the Marriott mobile app will automatically get entered.

The dates of the sweepstakes are April 2, 2015 to December 31, 2015, and drawings will be held monthly. Guests may have up to 10 entries per month.

What are the prizes? Up for grabs are 45 sets of 100,000 Marriott Rewards points, as well as a grand prize of a cool Million Marriott Rewards points.

Note that reservations must be attached to your Marriott Rewards account in order to use mobile check-in and be entered in the sweepstakes. Here’s a link to the Marriott Mobile sweepstakes.

Have you checked in using Marriott’s Mobile App? I keep meaning to try it, but only remember once I’ve landed in the city and already heading toward the hotel.
