The boutique Hudson New York hotel is a property near Times Square and Central Park. It has also been the workplace of 33 year old Sophon Aur since 2003. He’s a hardworking housekeeper that was taking out the trash last week when he was spotted by Libertine brand designer Johnson Hartig. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

The designer had been manning a pop-up showroom at the hotel, and was struck by the housekeeper’s gait and features. Johnson asked the worker what he was doing the next night, and then brought Sophon back to the showroom and asked to see his model walk.

Sophon reportedly told Refinery29, “They told me to just walk, look straight, and don’t go too fast or too slow. So that’s what I did. It’s like when someone asks you to go to a party, you go to the party.”

The next night, Sophon walked the catwalk in Libertine’s show and fit right in with the other models.

He is now seeking an agent to continue working in the modeling business, and credits the Hudson hotel with being supportive. Best of luck, Sophon Aur!
