DJ and star of The Simple Life reality show Paris Hilton was on her way to a club in Beijing, China when all of a sudden, the hotel elevator she was sharing with 11 others came to an abrupt stop between floors.

Security was called, and then mechanics. The group remained calm until the maintenance crew was unable to open the elevator doors.

That’s when panic set in. People swore, there were shouts, complaints about the heat, and Paris snapchatted and made a video about the miserable experience.

According to TMZ, someone finally risked their life by putting their arm in the elevator shaft in an attempt to pry open the doors.
A little over an hour after the elevator first got stuck, the risky move worked. After everyone got out of the elevator safely, the brave person that successfully got the elevator open reportedly threw up, perhaps because of the high stress.

The hotel heiress thanked her hero, and continued on to the club undoubtedly a little shaken but ready to move on. She posted a photo via Instagram looking cool and calm –

No word on what hotel the elevator was in.

Have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
