To take a look at the promotional rates, I checked the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef Resort & Morning Star Beach property in St. Thomas for the random dates of June 21-22, 2016 using the promotional rate.

The basic Island View room came to $192 a night with $522 the total including taxes and resort fees (resort fees are $45 a night!).

The AAA rate was higher, weighing in at $208 a night or $558 total, which came out to a $36 savings for two nights.

$36 isn’t a ton of money, but could be used to buy an extra lunch for the family or go for something else. Plus, other properties or dates may offer bigger savings. As with all promotions though, it’s still wise to check a few different websites before booking as sometimes the promotional rate is still higher than elsewhere. If you’re looking to getaway to the Caribbean or Latin America, this promotion may offer some savings.
