The new Hyatt Regency Tashkent in Uzbekistan opened today, which is the first Hyatt property in Uzbekistan.

It’s a welcome addition and a great option for award redemption. There is a Radisson Blu, Wyndham and a Ramada in the area but not a ton of hotel chain properties to choose from.

Located right in the capital city, you can get to popular attractions like the Amir Temur Museum, National Library, Chorsu Bazaar and Mustaqillik (Independence) Square easily.

Here’s a bird’s eye view of nearby attractions, as a screenshot from Hyatt’s website –

The Club Lounge is located on the 6th floor, and dining options at the hotel include the Khiva Café that features Uzbek cuisine and is open all day, Sette Pizza Bistro and Bar for Italian meals with skyline views, and the Chai Lounge for bakery items and coffee/tea. There is also a bar with DJ on the 7th floor outdoor terrace that offer shisha flavors and cocktails.

The Hyatt Regency Tashkent has a fitness center, spa, and an indoor swimming pool which looks gorgeous from the pic on Hyatt’s website –

The property has 300 guestrooms, of which 52 are suites. The rooms boast floor to ceiling windows, walk-in rain showers and separate tubs. Room service is offered 24 hours a day.

$250 for best available was the lowest I could find in 2016 and in 2017 $310 is showing as the best available rate. Sometimes when new hotels open they offer special rates to entice people to stay, and while there may be some lower rates found at this hotel, they don’t have any special offers right now.

The introductory level King room is 376 square feet, and Club rooms appear to be the same plus entry to the Club.

The lowest category of Suite is the Regency Suite at 700 square feet, includes Club access, and a small but perhaps important feature is that those rooms have espresso machines in them. There are three specialty Suite categories on top of that and the Presidential Suite maxes out at 2,045 square feet.

Check in time is at 2pm instead of the standard 3pm, and the Hyatt Regency Tashkent is a Category 2 property which requires just 8,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points for a free night. Cash & Points is 4,000 points plus $55.

The Ramada hovers around $85 a night but the Radisson Blu is around $250, and the Hyatt Regency Tashkent looks like a promising new property even with the highish rates.

Plus, when rates soar this Hyatt property easily offers an excellent redemption value. At $310 a night but redeeming just 8,000 points you’d get a value of 3.8 cents per point which is quite high indeed.

    1. @Danny I wondered about that myself. While it is up to the hotel to decide P&C availability and some hotels play games to avoid it being offered, my guess it that the Points & Cash rate just hasn’t been loaded yet for this property.
